Monoamine Neurotransmitters (NE, DA, 5H-T)

Monoamine neurotransmitters such as norepinephrine (NE), dopamine (DA) and serotoinin (5H-T) are essential for normal brain function. Determination of the concentration of DA, 5HT and related metabolites in brain tissue provides information on the functional activity of these neurotransmitter systems.

Department: Neuropharmacology
Methodology: HPLC and electrochemical detection

Sample: 50 – 100 mg brain tissue

Special Notes: This research test must be coordinated through the Neuropharmacology Laboratory Director. Most research tests are performed on a batch basis; the laboratory will not perform single sample testing. Contact the Neuropharmacology Laboratory Director for more information.

Turnaround Time and Test Cost: Please contact the Neuropharmacology Laboratory Director.
