When confirmatory testing provides a diagnosis of inherited metabolic disease for your patient, our professional staff is available to provide biochemical and molecular consultation. Our professional staff has extensive knowledge in the treatment of these diseases and may be able to assist you in developing possible treatment strategies for your patient. Additionally the professional staff has contacts around the world to assist you with the needs of your patient with an inherited metabolic disease.
- The Director of the Institute, Charles R. Roe, M.D., a pediatrician, is a leading authority on fat oxidation disorders.
- Larry Sweetman, Ph.D., is the Director of the Mass Spectrometry laboratory which performs Supplemental Newborn Screening and Tandem Mass Spectrometry at the Institute. Dr. Sweetman is board certified in Biochemical Genetics by the American Board of Genetics.
- Dr. Xiaowei Fu, M.D. Ph.D is the Assistant Director of the Mass Spectrometry laboratory.
