International Registry of Hepatic Tumors in Liver Transplantation
Methodology

Results are based on data contributed to the International Registry of Hepatic Tumors in Liver Transplantation by more than 55 centers from 10 countries. Baseline information, including tumor characteristics, perioperative treatment, patient and donor characteristics, is recorded at the time of transplant. Follow-up information documenting outcomes is requested annually post-transplant.

There are two mailings a year in which an updated copy of submitted clinical information is distributed, along with a consistency error report that points out areas of potential error or missing information.

Centers may request online access to enter and view their data or may submit forms by mail. Centers with online access may view center-specific reports, as well as selected study wide reports. Patient and center confidentiality rules are strictly enforced, and each participating center must comply with its local ethical and consent guidelines.

Graft and patient survival rates and time to recurrence are computed according to the Kaplan-Meier method. Patient death is considered to be an event for graft survival and disease recurrence.
