The Perinatal and Neonatal Outreach Program at Baylor University Medical Center at Dallas (Baylor Dallas) was created to promote education and provide resources to community hospitals.

We offer continuing education for staff nurses as well as coordination of education for physicians. Consultative services are available upon request. On-site assessment of equipment, services and/or staff can be performed, as well as phone consultation regarding nursing policies based on American Academy of Pediatrics and American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists guidelines.

We also provide referring physicians follow-up reports on their patients that are receiving care at Baylor Dallas. With patient consent, we will send regular faxes to notify the physician of delivery and any significant change in patient status.
Goals:

Educate professional staff regarding comprehensive perinatal-neonatal care.

Develop individualized teaching programs for community hospital personnel.

Provide communication to physicians whose patients are receiving care
 at Baylor Dallas.

Promote positive relationships between community hospital staff and
 Baylor Dallas staff.
