Clinical Scholars
Clinical Scholars at the Institute for Health Care Research and Improvement pursue the design, funding, and execution of new research and its subsequent dissemination in high-impact peer-review publications. Their research is used by Baylor Health Care System (BHCS) to improve clinical care and realize the BHCS vision of becoming the most trusted source of comprehensive health services. Clinical Scholars spend approximately 50% of their time in a clinical setting, and devote the rest of their time to the development and conduct of research programs.

Clinical Scholars can take advantage of the BHCS integrated health care delivery system laboratory, which comprises 20 owned, leased, affiliated, or short-stay hospitals; 88 primary care, specialty care, and senior health centers; 12 rehabilitation clinics; 18 ambulatory surgery centers; approximately 370 physicians employed by the Health Texas Provider Network; and over 3,000 other BHCS-affiliated physicians.
