Office of Health Equity
Current Activities

Providing Local and Regional Leadership: Working to diminish health disparities entails the building of enduring relationships with key leaders, policy makers, and institutions. BHCS's leadership draws together these resources with a commitment to see change happen in our communities.

Providing Services in Health Equity Improvement
Strategic Research and Best Practice Analysis: Using an Equity Performance Analytical Model (EPAM), the OHE analyzes health care quality measures as they correlate with personal patient characteristics. The development and implementation of the EPAM enhances the Office of Health Equity's (OHE) understanding of the capabilities of health care delivery systems to collect, measure, and evaluate performance.

Strategic Consulting: The OHE has developed a customized strategic consulting plan for engaging ambulatory and hospital-based health care delivery practitioners in efforts related to health equity improvement. The OHE also provides strategic consulting for external community-based organizations interested in collaborating on health equity improvement efforts.

Strategic Operations: The OHE manages and operates strategic interventions related to health status improvement and health equity improvement. The OHE has developed a diverse portfolio of projects focused on equity improvement interventions. These projects relate to primary and specialty care access, pharmaceutical access, care coordination, community health education, chronic disease management, and other dimensions of health care.
