The purpose of the Baylor Health Care System Nursing Research Council is to:
- Improve the quality of nursing care through the generation, utilization, and advancement of a scientific knowledge base for nursing practice;
- Develop individual Baylor nurses into research scholars; and
- Promote the presence of Baylor nursing research at the local, state and national level.
Members of the Nursing Research Council include:
- Chair and chair-elect
- Nurse coordinator, manager or director of BHCS hospital nursing research program
- Staff nurses
- Advanced practice nurses
- Baylor doctoral students
- Baylor nurses with doctoral degrees
- Professional Educators Council
- Nursing faculty
- Executive Sponsor
- Representatives from:
- Baylor Research Institute
- Institute for Health Care Research and Improvement
- Human Resources
- Decision Support Services
- Office of Compliance
