Baylor Visual Function Center at Dallas

The Baylor Visual Function Center at Dallas was established in 1981 at Baylor University Medical Center (BUMC).  We provide visual function testing and ophthalmic imaging to medical practices on and off the BUMC campus.  We are also a facility available for ophthalmic laser surgeries for glaucoma and cataract.  We use protocols designed by the International Society for Clinical Electrophysiology of Vision when applicable and provide the following services and equipment to our referring physicians:

 

Visual Function

 

  • Pattern-Reversal visual evoked potentials (pattern VEPs)
  • Flash Visual evoked potentials (flash VEPs)
  • Multifocal Electroretinogram (multifocal ERG)
  • Flash Electroretinogram (flash ERG)
  • Automated Visual Field Analysis (Humphrey Field Analyzer)

 

Ophthalmic Imaging

 

  • Stratus Optical coherence tomography (OCT)
  • Spectralis Spectral Domain OCT*
  • Spectralis Anterior Chamber Imaging*
  • Spectralis Blue Laser Autofluorescence*

 

Ophthalmic Lasers

 

  • Argon laser photocoagulation
  • YAG photodisruption (Lumenis Selecta Duet)
  • Selective Laser Trabeculoplasty (SLT) (Lumenis Selecta Duet)
  • Photodynamic Therapy (PDT) (Visudyne)
