The BIIR Flow Cytometry Shared Resource Laboratory (SRL) provides all flow cytometry cell analysis and cell sorting services for the institute.
The SRL maintains five user-operated cell analyzers:
Three custom FACS Canto II (three lasers/8-colors, equipped with
HTS or a carousel)
One custom LSRII (four lasers/18-colors, equipped with HTS)
One custom LSR Fortessa (five lasers/18-colors, equipped with
The SRL also operate three cell sorters:
One FACS Aria II (four lasers/13-colors)
One FACS Aria II (five lasers/18-colors)
One BD Influx (four lasers/18-colors, BSL 2+ biocontainment hood)
with up to six simultaneous sort populations
The SRL administers the institutional license for flow cytometry data analysis software and assists with data management, user education, training and project collaboration. The two locations at the Lieberman building and the Sammons Cancer Center are both staffed by the centrally managed core.
