The vision of the STEEEP Global Institute is better health care throughout the world. The mission of the STEEEP Global Institute is to leverage the experience and expertise of Baylor Health Care System to accelerate improved quality performance by health care delivery organizations worldwide.
The STEEEP Global Institute assists other health care organizations in improving health care quality, reducing health care costs, and making care more STEEEP (Safe, Timely, Effective, Efficient, Equitable, and Patient Centered).
As part of its quality journey, BHCS has successfully developed and implemented a number of strategies and tactics to improve care. The BHCS Institute for Health Care Research and Improvement (IHCRI), under the direction of David J. Ballard, MD, PhD, MSPH, FACP, has developed products and services that have demonstrated proven results. Dr. Ballard founded the IHCRI over 12 years ago, when he began assembling a team of experts to improve quality according to the Institute of Medicine call to provide care that is Safe, Timely, Effective, Efficient, Equitable, and Patient Centered (STEEEP).
Under the leadership of David J. Ballard, MD, PhD, MSPH, FACP, President of the STEEEP Global Institute, Neil S. Fleming, PhD, CQE, Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of the STEEEP® Global Institute, and Brad M. Leonard, MD, MBA, FACC, Chief Medical Officer of the STEEEP Global Institute, the STEEEP Global Institute promotes the sharing of Baylor Health Care System areas of expertise with other institutions in the pursuit of improved health care quality throughout the United States and world. These organizations include hospitals, health care systems, and accountable care organizations.
