Former Internship Participants

Internship requirements are a bachelor’s degree in biology, chemistry, biochemistry or related fields. Optional requirements are a nursing degree or a master’s degree in public health.

 

The internship program selects recent graduates at the bachelors or masters level who are planning careers in medicine or in health care research.

 

Upon completion of the program, interns have moved on to the following areas: research and administrative roles within Baylor Scott & White Health; pursuing graduate degrees in public health and education; nursing school; and medical school.

  

As of summer 2017, we have had 51 participants in the Epidemiology Internship and Fellowship programs. Of those who have completed the program, 51% have gone on to medical school, PhD school, nursing school or grad school at some of the most prestigious schools in the nation: Yale, Stanford, Columbia, Tulane, etc. Another 20% of interns went on to full-time jobs in the health care industry, some within Baylor Scott & White Health. Another 20% of interns went on to full-time positions in other industries.
