The Clinical Cardiovascular Research Center (CCRC) began at Baylor in 1987 to bring clinically relevant cardiology research studies to Baylor. Cara East, M.D. is the Director of the CCRC. Dr. East has guided and completed over 50 clinical trials through the center, choosing only studies that will impact the practice of medicine in the United States. The CCRC has received numerous commendations from sponsors and the NIH for its dedication to quality.

The mission of the CCRC is to:
  • perform the highest quality clinical research
  • involve the CCRC in important practice-altering studies
  • facilitate high quality care for our patients
  • promote innovative, creative, original research
  • use funds generated or generously donated wisely
  • educate patients, Baylor personnel, and our community on research concepts and results
