Baylor University Medical Center
Obstetrics and Gynecology Residency
Welcome
Dear Applicant:
We at Baylor are proud of our program and residents. Our program involves 20 resident physicians, five in each level, who are exposed to a wide and diverse patient population. This exposure is combined with faculty/attending staff committed to teaching and giving hands-on experience. This results in well-trained obstetricians/gynecologists prepared to handle any situation.
Resident physicians participate in patient care decisions/procedures in over 93 percent of the admissions. For this past year, that included 5000 deliveries 2100 major gynecological surgeries, and 1200 minor gynecological surgeries to distribute among the 20 residents.
Our program has an active outpatient clinic for the resident that emphasizes continuity of care. This is done to mirror private practice and the doctor/patient relationships it will foster. The majority of our residents venture out into private practice, but several have continued on into fellowships for subspecialty training.
Baylor is also the new Branch Campus to Texas A&M Health Science Center (TAMHSC) College of Medicine to 3rd and 4th year students.
If this brief introduction piques your interest, I encourage you to apply to our program. Come visit us and see for yourself the close camaraderie between each of the residents and the attending staff.
If you would like a little more detail about us, continue exploring this Web site. We appreciate your interest in Baylor, and look forward to receiving your application.
Sincerely,
|
