HOLIDAYS AND WEEKENDS
Holidays (as defined by the Baylor Scott and White Health GME office) include only the following six days:
New Year’s Day
Christmas Eve, New Year’s Eve and the Friday after Thanksgiving are regular working days. The Saturday and Sunday of holiday weekends are business as usual.
The fellow will be required to work and take call one full weekend (Saturday and Sunday) per calendar month.
Duties and Responsibilities
Fellows are expected to be available to see patients by 7:30 a.m. each morning. Fellows usually leave the department by 5 p.m., and it is a priority they have sufficient study time for independent reading in the evenings.
The program director ensures rotation responsibilities do not detract from a fellow’s overall educational experience.
