Baylor University Medical Center at Dallas' Colon and Rectal Surgery Fellowship program accepts two new fellows annually. The program lasts one year and is approved by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education. Eligible candidates have completed a five-year residency program in general surgery. All finishing fellows are eligible for certification by the American Board of Colon and Rectal Surgery.
Curtice Rosser, MD, who helped found the American Board of Proctology, established Baylor Dallas' program in colon and rectal surgery in 1953. The program continues to train community colorectal surgeons and academic colorectal surgeons.
