About: Breast Oncology Surgery Fellowship

The Baylor University Medical Center department of surgery is proud to offer the Seeger Endowed Fellowship in Surgical Oncology of the Breast. During the past 20 years that the fellowship has been offered, nearly all fellows, upon completion of the program, have entered into a Breast Oncology practice.

Fellows in our program receive extensive education and experience in the gross and microscopic surgical pathology of tumors. Physicians and surgeons at the department treat approximately 700 new cancers of the breast each year, and perform more than 40,000 procedures in Baylor’s 64 operating rooms. In addition, the 11 additional operating rooms at Surgicare, Texas Surgery Center, and Physician Day Surgery allow our surgeons to complete approximately 10,000 outpatient procedures each year. Currently, two members of the surgery staff restrict their practices exclusively to diseases of the breast, and several others perform breast surgery.

The majority of our patients are in the private category, although we make provisions for the admission of low-income or indigent patients.

Baylor Health Care System is located in Dallas, Texas
