About: Breast Imaging Fellowship

The Breast Imaging Fellowship program is offered at the Darlene G. Cass Women’s Imaging Center at Baylor University Medical Center.

The Darlene G. Cass Women’s Imaging Center provides a full range of breast imaging services. Our comprehensive mammography service includes digital mammography, computer-assisted detection of breast abnormalities, and breast ultrasound. Breast MRI examinations are available on a dedicated unit within the breast center. Positron emission mammography is also offered at the center.

Interventional procedures available at the breast center include cyst aspiration, ductography, pre-operative needle localization, and image-guided breast needle biopsy using sonographic, mammographic, and MR-guidance. The breast center is equipped with multiple Lorad Selenia full-field digital mammography units and a Lorad MultiCare Breast Biopsy prone stereotactic unit.  Additionally, there are 3 Philips IU-22 ultrasound units and a 1.5T Siemens Avanto MR unit.

The staff of the Darlene G. Cass Women’s Imaging Center includes registered radiologic technologists and seven fellowship-trained and board-certified radiologists. Because over 40,000 mammograms and interventional procedures are performed yearly at the Women’s Imaging Center, our staff members have become experts in their field. Our radiologists are also available to give a second opinion for breast imaging studies that are performed elsewhere.
