How To Apply

The first Breast Imaging Fellowship Match will take place in March 2017 for the 2018 appointment year. The match is sponsored by the Society of Breast Imaging and it will be managed by the National Resident Matching Program.

 

In order to become a fellow with Baylor University Medical Center at Dallas, you must register with the Radiology Match, of which Breast Imaging is a part.

 

HOW TO APPLY FOR A FELLOWSHIP POSITION

PLEASE SUBMIT THE FOLLOWING WITH THIS APPLICATION:

1. C.V.

2. Three (3) letters of reference,

one (1) should be from your Diagnostic Radiology program director.

3. A brief paragraph describing your:

a. Reasons for interest in Breast Imaging Fellowship

b. Training expectation

c. Practice expectations

4. Documents: (Certified copies are OK)

a. Medical School Transcript

b. College of Medicine Diploma

c. Internship Certificate

d. USMLE/COMLEX Transcript

5. Recent photo

Breast Imaging has implemented an All In Policy for the Match. This means that programs participating in the Match cannot extend any offers to candidates outside of the match. Applicants can withdraw from the Match prior to the ranking deadline if they accept a position outside of the Match.

Dates of the Match:

  • March 22, 2017: Registration opens
  • April 26, 2017: Ranking opens
  • May 31, 2017: Ranking Order List Deadline
  • June 14, 2017: Match Day
  • July 1, 2018: Training begins

 

Cost of the Match:

  • Applicants will pay a $75 registration fee to register for the Match.

Appointment of Housestaff-Eligibility

 

Everyone who is accepted into a residency or fellowship program is required to successfully complete a background review and initial drug screening, which includes testing for the use of nicotine products.  Effective January 1, 2012, Baylor Health Care System and its affiliated entities will not hire individuals who test positive for the use of any nicotine products.


Applicants with one of the following qualifications are eligible for appointment to either ACGME-accredited or TSBME or ADA approved programs:

  • Graduates of medical schools in the United States and Canada accredited by the Liaison Committee on Medical Education (LCME).
  • Graduates of colleges of osteopathic medicine in the United States accredited by the American Osteopathic Association (AOA).
  • Graduates of medical schools outside the United States and Canada (International Medical Graduates - IMGs) who meet the following qualifications:
  • Have received a currently valid certificate from the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates prior to appointment. 
  • Have a full and unrestricted license to practice medicine in a US licensing jurisdiction in which they are training.
  • Possess a Green card or procure a J-1 visa. 
  • H1B visas are not sponsored by BUMC for Housestaff training; Baylor sponsors only J-1 visas for housestaff training.
  • Graduates of medical schools outside the United States who have completed a Fifth Pathway program provided by an LCME-accredited medical school.
  • Graduates of medical schools in the United States and Canada accredited by the (LCME) who are not United States citizens who meet the following qualifications:
  • Have a full and unrestricted license to practice medicine in a US licensing jurisdiction in which they are training.
  • Possess a Green card or procure a J-1 visa. 
  • H1B visas are not sponsored by BUMC for Housestaff training. Baylor sponsors only J-1 visas for housestaff training.
