The Advanced Heart Failure/Transplant Training Program is a 12-month longitudinal clinical track that consists of five clinical experiences:
1. Advanced Heart Failure/Transplant Inpatient and Consult
2. Ambulatory Care
3. Transplant Clinic and Biopsy Lab
4. Pulmonary Hypertension
This clinical training program will be divided into 65% inpatient care and 35% spent developing clinical skills in the ambulatory setting including outpatient evaluation of patients with heart failure, cardiomyopathies, pulmonary hypertension, post-transplant cardiac allograft, and chronic LVAD management. During this ambulatory time, invasive laboratory skills will be developed focusing on coronary angiography and IVUS for transplant angiopathy, endomyocardial biopsies and invasive hemodynamic assessment of the heart failure patients.
