ACLS
Residents are required to obtain certification in Basic and Advanced Cardiac Life Support prior to beginning their training at Baylor. Re-certification during training is paid by Baylor.

Credit Union
The Baylor Credit Union provides numerous services to credit union members. Residents may open an account at the Credit Union beginning the first day of their training at Baylor. Membership may be continued after completion of program if desired.

Direct deposit is available for residents.
Discounts
Residents receive DART bus passes, movie passes, passbooks, and discounted meals in the cafeteria..
Financial Support
Educational stipends are issued biweekly (26 pay periods).
Identification Badges
Residents are issued photo identification badges through the Department of Public Safety.
Professional Liability
Baylor provides professional liability for program-related training. This includes legal defense and protection against awards from claims reported or filed after the completion of training if the alleged acts or omissions of the residents are within the scope of the educational program.
Lab Coats
Residents are provided two lab coats per year.

Licensure
Residents receive reimbursement for their institutional permit fee.

Meal tickets provided for Baylor in-house residents on call over night.

Restrictive Covenants
ACGME-accredited residencies at Baylor do not require residents to sign a non-competition guarantee.
Safety
Baylor is committed to providing a safe environment. The Baylor department of public safety is a state licensed police agency. The department provides 24-hour service to Baylor’s Dallas campus community. Escorts are available to/from all campus buildings and parking areas. An informal personal safety training session is available. Defensive training is available at a minimal fee.
Voting
Residents are encouraged to vote in public elections. If the polls are not open for two consecutive hours before or after the resident is scheduled, the resident may request (in advance) time off to vote.
