Rob Adrian, M.Div. BCC
Rob is the chaplain for The Heart Hospital Baylor Plano. He received his undergraduate degree from The University of Texas at Austin and his MDiv. From Princeton Theological Seminary. Before chaplaincy in the Baylor system he was a minister for 15 years in Presbyterian churches in Oklahoma and Texas. After completing CPE residencies in New Jersey and Texas he began his full time chaplaincy in Plano


Rebecca Adrian, M.Div. BCC, CPE Instructor, Pastoral Care Manager, & Transplant Medicine Service line
Rebecca is a Manager in the Pastoral Care Department of BUMC. She coordinates spiritual care for patients, families and staff for the Baylor transplant program. She serves as adjunct faculty for the CPE program. Her responsibilities include curriculum planning, leading didactic seminars and teaching fist year skills lab. Adrian also coordinates the CPE Advisory Committee.

Before serving at BUMC, Adrian was a chaplain at Baylor Regional Medical Center at Grapevine for eight years. She has her Bachelors of Science in Public Relations from The University of Alabama and her Master of Divinity from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. Adrian is an ordained Baptist minister who is endorsed by the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship. She is board certified by the Association of Professional Chaplains.


Carlos R. Bell, M. Div., ACPE Supervisor and Manager, CPE Programs, Downtown Dallas Campus
Carlos Bell is one of the Clinical Pastoral Education Center’s CPE faculty members. He received his Bachelor of Science from Southern Bible College and completed a Master of Arts in Religious Education and a Master of Divinity from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. The Southwestern Black Seminary Fellowship selected Bell as a Distinguished Alumni in 2003. He completed one extended CPE unit at Children’s Medical Center in Dallas, Texas, and residency and supervisory education at Memorial Hospital System in Houston, Texas.

Bell served in senior services, psychiatry, medical intensive care, transitional care, and hospice care settings. He was awarded the 1996 Veteran Affairs Secretary’s Excellence in Chaplaincy. His other accomplishments include ACPE Southwest Region Racial Ethnic Multicultural Committee, Regional Certification Committee, and Leadership Council Chairmanship. He was co-chair of the ACPE Annual Conference and nominated as ACPE President-Elect in 2007. He was selected as one of the top 12 ACPE Supervisors by the ACPE National Certification Commission as part of The Rev. Judy Ragsdale’s, Ph.D. dissertation on Supervisory Wisdom in 2008. He published an article on Pastoral Supervision and Cultural Issues, (Vol. 20) Journal of Supervision and Training in Ministry. He has held leadership roles in the Church of God in Christ as pastor, district superintendent, and jurisdictional secretary.


Karen F. Black, M.DIV. BCC
Karen Black is the Manager of Pastoral Care and Counseling at Baylor Regional Medical Center at Grapevine. She has a Graduate Diploma in Religious Education and a Master of Divinity, both from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth.

Black has achieved four units of Clinical Pastoral Education and is a Board Certified Chaplain by the Association of Professional Chaplains. She is an ordained minister and endorsed by the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship. Karen is a member of the Pediatric Chaplains Network


Jerry Carter, M.DIV, BCC
Jerry Carter is Staff Chaplain ll at Baylor Medical Center at Waxahachie. He has been a Baylor Chaplain for 20 years. Receiving his Bachelor of Arts in Religion and Biblical Studies from Dallas Baptist University, he continued his preparation for ministry at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas. He earned his Master of Divinity Degree in 1976 and has done post graduate work in the Doctor of Ministry program. After serving as a pastor for 12 yeas Chaplain Carter completed a year’s residency in Clinical Pastoral Education at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas, TX. He is endorsed by the Baptist General Convention of Texas and he is a Board Certified Chaplain through the Association of Professional Chaplains


Paul T. Chacko M.A., M.Div, B.C.C.
Paul Chacko is a staff chaplain in the Geriatrics Service Line. He is responsible for pastoral care at Buckner Retirement Village and Baylor Senior Centers at Garland and Plano. He earned his Master of Arts degree in Economics from Loyola College and a Master of Divinity from Hindustan Bible Seminary in Madras, India. He works closely with the Greater Dallas Alzheimer's Association in leading support groups for family members of patients with Alzheimers. He did his first year of CPE residency at Parkland Memorial Hospital and his second year of CPE at Baylor University Medical Center. He has earned a total of nine units of Clinical Pastoral Education. In July 2008 he became a Board Certified Chaplain with the Association of Professional Chaplains.


Abiodun Coker, M.Div
Abiodun Coker is a Chaplain at Baylor Medical Center at Irving. He received his Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical/Electronics) from University of Benin, Benin City in Nigeria. Coker received his seminary training from Evangel Theological Seminary of the Assemblies of God in Jos, Nigeria. He has served as church Pastor for 15 years in Nigeria, Canada and United States. Coker achieved 10 units of Clinical Pastoral Education


Larry E. Colgrove, BA
Larry Colgrove is a chaplain at Baylor Medical Center at Garland. He serves in the Emergency Department, Telemetry, and Rehab. He received his Bachelor of Arts in Biblical Studies with a minor in Greek from Criswell College in 1979.

He completed 8 units of Clinical Pastoral Education at Baylor University Medical Center 1980 – 1982. He served as staff chaplain at Medical City Dallas Hospital 1982 – 1985. He served as Director of Pastoral Care at Buckner Retirement, Dallas 1985 – 2000. He has served as chaplain at Baylor Medical Center at Garland 2000 – present. He is endorsed by the Baptist General Convention of Texas. He was ordained in 1980


Donnie Crump, M.DIV.BCC
Donnie Crump is chaplain at Baylor Medical Center at Irving. His areas of responsibility include Critical Care, Women's Services, Emergency, and Oncology. He graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree from Dallas Bible College with a major in Bible and a minor in Greek. He graduated from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, Fort Worth, with a Master of Divinity. He completed five units of Clinical Pastoral Education at Baylor University Medical Center, Dallas. He is Faith Endorsement is by Baptist General Convention of Texas. He is a Board Certified chaplain in the Association of Professional Chaplains.


Mike Davis, ThM,
Mike Davis received his B.A. from Tennessee Temple University and his Th. M. from Dallas Theological Seminary. He did his clinical training at Baylor University Medical Center. He completed one Extended Unit of Clinical Pastoral Education, three Basic Units, and one Advanced Unit. Mike was a chaplain for 11 and a half years for Vitas Innovative Healthcare Corporation. He is currently a hospital chaplain working in cardiovascular care in Dallas at the Baylor Jack and Jane Hamilton Heart and Vascular Hospital.


Elizabeth "Chick" Deegan, BSN, MA
Chick is Program Manager for Employee Spiritual Support and the Sacred Vocations Program. She joined Baylor to help build and sustain the Sacred Vocation Program and to bring spiritual support to all employees. She is a nurse, a counselor and is passionate about helping others find the connection between their life purpose and their work at Baylor. She also helps Sacred Vocation graduates and leaders identify ways to shape an environment of care where patients and families feel that their spiritual and emotional needs are met and where staff experience living a life of purpose and meaning.


Robert L. (Bob) Duncan, Th.D
Bob Duncan is the pastoral care manager for Baylor Medical Center at Garland, Baylor Medical Center at Irving, Baylor Regional Medical Center at Plano and The Heart Hospital at Baylor Plano. He received his Bachelor of Arts from Ouachita Baptist University and Master of Divinity and a Doctor of Theology from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. He has also completed five units of Clinical Pastoral Education.

Bob is endorsed by the Baptist General Convention of Texas to serve as a chaplain and is Board Certified by the Association of Professional Chaplains


Mark Grace, M.DIV. ACPES
Mark Grace is the Director of Pastoral Care and Counseling for Baylor Health Care System serves as one of the CPE Center's Clinical Pastoral Education faculty members. Grace received his Bachelor of Art in religion from Howard Payne University and a Master of Divinity with biblical languages from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. He has been certified as an ACPE Supervisor since 1990 and has served as the director of pastoral care programs which incorporated CPE Centers in two hospitals. He served as Director of Chaplaincy Services and the CPE Center for Susquehanna Health System in Williamsport, Pennsylvania, from 1990 through 1994. Grace returned to Baylor Health Care System in late 1994 to take the position of director of the department of pastoral care and counseling.

Grace began his chaplaincy career at Baylor when he served as a CPE Resident in Baylor's 1983-1984 CPE Residency program. He moved into a staff chaplaincy position at BUMC in 1984 after finishing his CPE Residency and was responsible for designing and implementing pastoral care programs in emergent and critical care services, orthopedic services, general medicine, urology, cardiology and cardiovascular services, addictive diseases and adolescent psychiatry and general surgery. His areas of focus as an educator have been in the fields of narrative theology and psychology as they impact pastoral care and education, building multicultural learning and ministering communities and the application of servant leadership principles to management of pastoral care and education programs.


Joseph P. Hama, Ph.D.
Joseph Hama is the chaplain at Baylor Specialty Hospital in Dallas. He received his Bachelor of Arts from Louisiana College and completed a Master of Divinity, a Master of Arts in Religious Education, and earned a Ph.D. in Pastoral Ministry from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.

Hama completed 5 Units of Clinical Pastoral Education at Baylor University Medical Center. He is a Board Certified Chaplain with the Association of Professional Chaplains. He is endorsed by the Baptist General Convention of Texas.


Bicri Hernandez de Singh, MDiv.
Bicri Hernandez de Singh completed her B.A. at Trinity University in San Antonio and her M.Div. at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth. She is an ordained Baptist minister and is endorsed by the Baptist General Convention of Texas. She completed four units of CPE at Valley Baptist Medical Center in Harlingen and an additional four units of CPE at VA Medical Center in Dallas. She is currently a CPE Supervisory Candidate co-facilitating CPE units in the Baylor Dallas and Fort Worth campuses. She also serves as a chaplain in the oncology areas


Judy Lain, MACE
Judy Lain is a chaplain at Baylor All Saints Medical Center. Her service lines include transplant and telemetry. Lain received her Bachelor of Arts from McMurray University and a Master of Arts in Christian Education from Dallas Theological Seminary. Lain completed the field education program and four units of Clinical Pastoral Education at Baylor University Medical Center. Lain is an ordained minister in the Cumberland Presbyterian Church.


Jen-Yen "Len" Liu, M.A. LPC
Len Liu is a chaplain at Baylor Regional Medical Center at Plano. He received his Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering from Fung-Chia University in Tai-Chung, Taiwan and two Master of Art degrees, one in Christian Counseling and one in Practical Theology. Len has achieved 8 units of Clinical Pastoral Education.

He is endorsed by the Baptist General Convention of Texas to serve as a chaplain and is a Licensed Professional Counselor.


David Lowe, M.A., M.DIV.BCC Manager of Pastoral Care, Primary Chaplain for Non-Critical Care, Medical Surgical Patients
David Lowe serves as the Manager for Pastoral Care at Baylor All Saints in Fort Worth, Texas. In addition to providing leadership to the Department, David provides direct patient care to the non critical care patients in two different Medical-Surgical Units and patients in Rehabilitation. David has served as the primary chaplain for Transplant and Critical Care Patients in the recent past. David received his Bachelor of Arts in Biblical Studies and Master of Art in Pastoral Theology from Criswell College. In addition, he earned the Master of Divinity with Biblical languages from Southwestern Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas. David pursued additional study at Golden Gate Seminary in Mill Valley, California. David has extensive experience in the local church and served as a senior pastor for five years. He has achieved four units of Clinical Pastoral Education and has a deep interest in Pediatrics since his training at Children’s Medical Center of Dallas. David is a Board Certified chaplain with the Association of Professional chaplain and is endorsed by the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship as a Chaplain.


Ines Lowe, B.R.E Critical Care, Women's Services, NICU, and Med-Surg.
Chaplain Ines Lowe coordinates the Baylor-Garland Pastoral Care Volunteers’ program. She is Chaplain for the Women's Services providing support to families enduring neonatal loss. She helps organize and coordinate the TLC (To Lose a Child) bereavement program for Baylor-Garland Pastoral care. She provides pastoral support to the NICU (Neonatal ICU) and coordinates the “Love Lamb” program for families with babies in the NICU. She also provides pastoral support to Staff, Patients, and Families in Critical Care, Telemetry, Med-surgery and Pre-op areas. She has been in the ministry for over 20 years and a chaplain with the Baylor Health Care System for over 11 years.

Chaplain Ines Lowe is trilingual. She received her Seminary training from the Seminary of Christian Education in Recife - Brazil and her Clinical Pastoral Education, internship and residency, at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas. She is licensed by The Heights Baptist Church in Richardson, and ordained by Alvorada Baptist Church in Fortaleza - Brazil where she served as minister of Religion Education. She is endorsed by the BGCT - Baptist General Convention of Texas. She has been trained in CISM (Critical Incident Stress Management) Group Crisis Intervention, Advanced Group Crisis Intervention, Individual Crisis Intervention & Peer Support, CISM for Health Care Provider and Stress Management for Trauma Service Providers courses. She served as Chaplain at the Dumont Baptist School, (Fortaleza – Brazil). She also has served on the Board of Trustees for the Memorial Baptist Hospital (Fortaleza- Brazil).


Ella M. McCarroll, M.A.R.E. BCC
Chaplain Ella McCarroll began her chaplaincy career as a corrections chaplain at Plane State Jail a Corrections Facility for female offenders under Texas Dept. of Criminal Justice. She became a Chaplain in 1998 at BUMC-Dallas where she served 10 years before coming to Baylor All Saints Andrews Women’s Hospital – Fort Worth. She continues in her clinical specialty to women experiencing pregnancy loss and infant death. She is the coordinator of the To Lose A Child (TLC) Infant Bereavement Program. She received a Bachelor of Science in Business Education from Texas College and a Master of Science in Rehabilitation Counseling from the University of Central Arkansas.

Chaplain McCarroll earned a Master of Arts in Religious Education (M.A.R.E.) from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and has completed 6 units of Clinical Pastoral Education. She is endorsed as a Chaplain by Baptist General Convention of Texas (BGCT) and Board Certified with the Association of Professional Chaplains (APC).


Paul McKay, M.Div.
Paul McKay is a chaplain at Baylor Medical Center at Garland. Paul holds a B.A. degree in journalism from the University of North Texas and a Master of Divinity degree from SMU. He trained in Clinical Pastoral Education at Methodist Medical Center in Dallas. Paul is an ordained minister in the United Methodist Church


Mike Mullender, Ph.D.
Mike Mullender serves as Pastoral Care Manager for Baylor University Medical Center where he is chaplain to the trauma, surgery and orthopedic service lines. He also established and continues to lead Baylor's Geriatrics Chaplaincy program which provides spiritual care for older adults and their caregivers in outpatient and community settings. Mullender received a Bachelor of Music Education from Baylor University and earned a Master of Divinity and a Ph.D. in Pastoral Ministry from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. He is a Board Certified Chaplain through the Association of Professional Chaplains and is endorsed by the Baptist General Convention of Texas.


Albert L. Millicent, M.A., LPCI
Albert Millicent is the chaplain for Women and Children’s Services at Baylor University Medical Center where she provides spiritual and emotional care to patients, families and staff within the antepartum, postpartum and neonatal intensive care units.  Millicent also provides pastoral care to families enduring ectopic pregnancy, miscarriage, stillbirth and infant death. She received her B.A.S. in Christian Ministries from Dallas Baptist University and obtained her M.A. in counseling from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.  Millicent has achieved 4 units of Clinical Pastoral Education and is endorsed by the Baptist General Convention of Texas.  Millicent is board certified by the Texas State Board of Examiners as a Licensed Professional Counselor, Intern and a member of the American Association of Christian Counselors.   


Gabriel Ojih, B.TH
Gabriel Ojih is the night chaplain for the Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas, TX. He provides spiritual and emotional support to patients, families and staff across the campus including the Oncology hospital, Baylor Specialty Hospital, Baylor Institute of Rehabilitation, etc. but with emphasis in the Emergency Dept. and ICU/Trauma areas. He attended Ambassador College in Pasadena, CA and received his Bachelor of Arts in Theology with a minor in Counseling at the college’s Big Sandy, TX campus. He is completing his Master of Divinity at Brite Divinity School at Texas Christian University.

Ojih is an ordained minister, served as a church pastor for 10 years and has completed 6 units of Clinical Pastoral Education.


Ascanio Peguero MD, MDiv, BCC
Ascanio is a chaplain at Baylor All Saints Medical Center. His area of service includes oncology, progressive care unit, palliative care, and transplant donor advocacy. Peguero received his Medical Degree from the University of Santo Domingo and his Master of Divinity from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.

Peguero completed 4 units of Clinical Pastoral Education at Baylor Health Care System and Dallas Veteran Hospital. He is an ordained Baptist Minister who served as missionary in Thailand. He is endorsed by the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship and board certified by the Association of Professional Chaplains.


The Rev. Marci Pounders, M.Div, BCC Palliative Care Chaplain, Palliative Care Consult Service, BUMC Staff Chaplain, BUMC
The Rev. Marci Pounders serves as the palliative care chaplain for the palliative care interdisciplinary team at BUMC. She is also a staff chaplain for the BUMC Department of Pastoral Care and Counseling. Marci specializes in end of life care and counseling, bereavement care and worship coordination for the downtown campus. She is a board certified chaplain and a member of the Association of Professional Chaplains.

Marci is an ordained Episcopal priest, spiritual director, and published poet. Her works can be found in Sacramental Life magazine, Healing Spirit magazine, Chaplaincy Today, and The Journal of Palliative Medicine. She is endorsed by the Bishop Suffragan for Chaplaincies, Episcopal Church USA, and the Diocese of Dallas.


JamesPaul Qazilbash, M.DIV. Pediatrics, Geriatrics
JamesPaul Qazilbash is the chaplain for Our Children's House at Baylor where he provides pastoral care for children with traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, stroke, diseases, and vent dependent children. JamesPaul also serves as one of Baylor Senior Health Centers’ Geriatrics chaplains. He covers the downtown Dallas and Mesquite Senior Health day clinics as well as making pastoral home visits through our Senior Housecalls program. He completed 5 units of CPE at the Dallas campus of Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas.

He has a Master of Divinity Degree from Perkins School of Theology at Southern Methodist University in Dallas. He is currently in the ordination process to be a Deacon in the United Methodist Church ordained for clinical ministry.


Satoe Soga, M.Div, D,Min. ACPE Supervisor and Manager, CPE Programs
Satoe Soga is a manager for CPE programs at Baylor Health Care System. She received her Bachelor of Arts from Northwestern College and completed a Master of Divinity from Fuller Theological Seminary. Currently, she is completing her Doctor of Ministry at Ecumenical Theological Seminary.

Satoe calls herself a tri-cultural person. Growing up, she has lived in three countries, Taiwan, Japan, and USA, and she values diversity and inclusivity. She is a minister of the Word and Sacrament in Presbyterian Church USA, and has served on the racial ethnic young adult leadership in that denomination. She is a board certified chaplain through the Association of Professional Chaplains, and she served in various health care systems such as NYU Medical Center and Cleveland Clinic. In 2008, she was certified as an Associate CPE Supervisor from the Association for Clinical Pastoral Education.


Allan Paul Sutton, D.Min. BCC
Paul Sutton is a staff chaplain in Cardiovascular Care. He received a Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Texas at Arlington and earned a Master in Divinity in Theology and a Doctor of Ministry in Pastoral Care from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.

Sutton achieved 4 units of Clinical Pastoral Education at Baylor University Medical Center and is endorsed by the Baptist General Convention of Texas. He is a Board Certified member of the Association of Professional Chaplains


Denita Wade
Denita Wade is the Program Support Administrative Assistance and Facilitator for Sacred Vocation Program. Denita provides direct support to the programs manger and graduates of the program on the Dallas Campus. She is an ordained minister in the Non Denominational Church.


Chaplain Chuck Wallace Service Line: Behavioral Health, ICU, CVICU, ER
Chuck Wallace is the chaplain for for Intensive Care Unit both General and Cardiovascular Intensive Care Units. He provides coverage for the Behavioral Health units at Baylor All Saints Medical Center. Additionally, Chuck served on the Ethics Committee since 2001.

He received his Bachelor in Business Administration from Belmont University in Nashville, TN and a Master of Divinity as well as a Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Counseling from the New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary.

Chuck completed a CPE residency at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Dallas, TX and an initial unit at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, DC.

Chuck also serves in the Texas Army National Guard and has served two tours of duty in Operation Iraqi Freedom.


Alan Wright, M.DIV.
Alan Wright is an Oncology Staff Chaplain for the Sammon's Cancer Center and Virginia R. Cvetko Patient Education Center at Baylor University Medical Center. He received a Bachelor of Arts from Mississippi College and a Master of Divinity from Brite Divinity School at Texas Christian University.

He is endorsed by the Alliance of Baptists and is a Board Certified Chaplain with the Association of Professional Chaplains..


Craig Zoller, Graduate Diploma Geriatrics
Craig Zoller serves as one of Baylor Senior Health Centers’ Geriatrics chaplains serving elderly patients and their families in times of chronic illness and end of life care. He covers the downtown Dallas and Fair Park Senior Health day clinics as well as making pastoral home visits through our Senior Housecalls program. He coordinates the management of the Baylor Geriatrics volunteer ministry. Craig has completed 5 units of CPE at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas.

He has a Graduate Diploma from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. He is currently in the process of completing a Master of Divinity Degree at Logsdon Seminary. He is an ordained minister and is endorsed by the Baptist General Convention of Texas.
