Nuclear Medicine Technology Program
Program Information

The Program is a full-time, hospital-based program offering a certificate of completion after meeting all academic achievement and clinical requirements.

The Program lasts 20 months, beginning annually in August.  Classroom and clinical hours range from 7:00am to 4:30pm, Monday through Friday.  Students are required to rotate through a nuclear medicine pharmacy, Children’s Medical Center and clinical sites within the Baylor Healthcare System and throughout the Dallas-Ft. Worth area.

Upon successful completion of the program, students are eligible to take the examinations offered by the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) and American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). After passing this exam, graduates will be certified as Nuclear Medicine Technologists.

Guidelines for Acceptance
The Program reviews each completed application and selects the best qualified applicants annually. Because the program size is limited to those selected each year, applicants should adhere closely to all requirements and instructions in the application packet. It is imperative that applicants meet all admission requirements and deadline dates.

The class selection committees will begin reviewing completed application packets immediately upon receipt. The school will adhere to the Baylor Healthcare Systems’ process for consumer reporting as each application is received. HireRight, the consumer reporting company, will notify any applicants that are disqualified during this process.

Students are selected on a point system. Points are given based upon the prerequisite grades, healthcare experience, statements of recommendations, personal narrative and the interview.

When making decisions related to applicants, the Selection Committee adheres to a policy of non-discrimination on the basis of age, creed, color, physical challenges, gender, marital status, national origin, religion or race.
