Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Residency Program
How to Apply

All applicants must be currently enrolled in an ADA-accredited US dental school, or hold a DDS or DMD degree from an ADA-accredited US dental school. Dentists with degrees from foreign countries are not eligible. Doctors with MD or DO degrees from accredited medical schools may be considered for a combined DDS/Medical degree Certificate program with advanced standing dental school admission.

All applicants should have a composite score of at least 90 on Part 1 of the National Dental Board Examination to be considered eligible for application.

All applicants should ideally be in the top 15% of their dental school class, have a high GPA, and have letters that attest to demonstrated interest and potential in the field of oral and maxillofacial surgery. Although others will be reviewed and considered, in all likelihood their applications will not be competitive.

All applicants must submit their applications through PASS in order to be considered for interviews. Most of our applicants are selected through the National Match program. PASS packets are obtained from the ADEA (American Dental Education Association). Contact your school administration for information.

All applicants must submit at least 3 letters of recommendation from dental school faculty in addition to their PASS package with its applicant's personal motivational statement letter. At least one letter should ideally be from oral and maxillofacial surgery faculty at the dental school. In addition, a Dean's letter should also be forwarded through PASS.

Interviews are by invitation. If invited, all applicants are expected to interview in person to be considered for residency appointment.
