Residents at Baylor University Medical Center enjoy an outstanding research environment that puts them at the forefront of medical care. Basic research is performed at the Baylor Research Institute, featuring 30,000 square feet of space. Residents are encouraged to publish papers during their residency and to make presentations at local, regional, and national meetings. Surgical research is readily available and is ultimately performed by 75 percent of the residents, but it is not mandatory.
