Appointment of Housestaff-Eligibility

Applicants with one of the following qualifications are eligible for appointment to either ACGME-accredited or TSBME or ADA approved programs:

•  Graduates of medical schools in the United States and Canada accredited by the Liaison Committee on Medical Education (LCME).

•  Graduates of colleges of osteopathic medicine in the United States accredited by the American Osteopathic Association (AOA).

•  Graduates of medical schools outside the United States and Canada (International Medical Graduates - IMGs) who meet the following qualifications:

Have received a currently valid certificate from the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates prior to appointment.
Have a full and unrestricted license to practice medicine in a US licensing jurisdiction in which they are training.
Possess a Green card or procure a J-1 visa.

H1B visas are not sponsored by BUMC for Housestaff training; Baylor sponsors only J-1 visas for housestaff training.

 

•  Graduates of medical schools outside the United States who have completed a Fifth Pathway program provided by an LCME-accredited medical school.

•  Graduates of medical schools in the United States and Canada accredited by the (LCME) who are not United States citizens who meet the following qualifications:

Have a full and unrestricted license to practice medicine in a US licensing jurisdiction in which they are training.
Possess a Green card or procure a J-1 visa.

H1B visas are not sponsored by BUMC for Housestaff training. Baylor sponsors only J-1 visas for housestaff training.
