On an outpatient basis, fellows see treat the entire spectrum of neoplastic disease, and also follow up with patients who were previously treated for oncologic disorders.
During the outpatient portion of the rotation, the fellow evaluates new patients referred for consultation and presents the findings to the attending physician. After examining the patient, the attending physician discusses the diagnosis, further care, and therapy with the fellow.
Fellows generally see one or two new patients and three to five follow-up patients per half-day clinic session. |
