Research Opportunities

The Baylor-Charles A. Sammons Cancer Center coordinates the multi-disciplinary activities involved in the diagnosis and treatment of cancer patients and sees more than 2,500 newly diagnosed patients each year.

Founded in 1977, the Sammons Cancer Center houses all of the major specialties relating to cancer, including the divisions or departments of radiation oncology, medical oncology-hematology, surgical oncology, and bone marrow transplantation. The surgical oncology staff includes members of the attending staff of these various surgical specialties. Each month, the department holds eleven site tumor conferences attended by staff members of all disciplines, as well as by students, residents, and fellows.
