Welcome, and thank you for your interest in our Pharmacy Practice Residency at Baylor All Saints Medical Center Fort Worth

Hospital Information

Baylor All Saints Medical Center (BASMC) is an acute care community hospital in Fort Worth, Texas. As an affiliate of Baylor Scott & White Health, BASMC can offer the vast expertise afforded by Baylor Scott & White Health coupled with the individualized attention allowed in a smaller setting.

The BASMC campus is licensed for 574 beds and consists of an acute care community hospital and a Woman’s Health Facility. The campus also includes a cancer center, cardiovascular center, solid organ transplant program and level three neonatal intensive care unit, as well as various other critical care and medical/surgical units assuring residents ample opportunities for a challenge.

The Pharmacy Department at BASMC in Fort Worth occupies a 6,400-square-foot space, complete with automated dispensing units and an advanced USP- 797 compliant sterile products lab.

We are a pharmacy department that puts pharmaceutical care into action for all of its registered pharmacists. The department is structured to provide rounding pharmacists an enhanced patient care role without traditional dispensing duties.

Some of the innovative approaches used to accomplish this include the use of non-dispensing rounding (decentralized) pharmacists with centralized medication dispensing. This is facilitated by the use of automated dispensing cabinets that are interfaced with the pharmacy information system.

Available throughout the hospital is the pharmacy clinical information system, which provides the pharmacist expanded patient information, including ready access to all lab values. A drug information system is accessible to health care providers’ hospital-wide, as is access to numerous electronic full-text journals and books through the Baylor Health Sciences Library.

We provide the flexibility and special attention necessary for a successful pharmacy residency learning environment.
